Thinking about visiting Pattaya with your family? Contrary to popular belief, Pattaya has several family-friendly neighborhoods and a great number of attractions suitable for all ages. One of such areas is called Pratumnak Hill.
Is Pattaya all about adult fun?
You’ve probably heard all kinds of stories about Pattaya. The infamous resort city on Gulf of Thailand’s east coast is mainly known for unrestrained partying and adult fun. As true as some of the legends may be, there is a softer side to Pattaya few people know about: a cosmopolitan, scenic, and even a family-friendly one. And nowhere are these qualities displayed better than at glamorous Pratumnak Hill (or also called Pattaya Hill).
Pratumnak Hill, family-friendly area with a touch of glamour
Pratumnak Hill lies between Pattaya and another family-oriented area called Jomtien. It can be reached by two roads, Thappraya or Pratumnak, and is often referred to as Pattaya Hill or Royal Hill since it was once owned by the King of Thailand. Pratumnak Hill is popular amongst foreigners and home to residential villages, luxury hotels, shops, spas, and, of course, eateries. While there is a cluster of upscale restaurants on Thappraya Road, commonly called “Beverly Hills”, you couldn’t really find any loud music bars in this neighborhood.
Beaches, culture and fine dining
Pattaya Hill enjoys close distance to several sandy beaches: Dong Tan Beach, U-Thong Beach, Rachavaroon Beach, and Cosy Beach. Serene Cosy Beach is one of the finest in the city; it boasts a selection of restaurants and entertainment. Furthermore, visitors hungry for interesting sites and culture flock to Khao Pattaya View Point, the best viewpoint in the region, and Big Buddha – an 18 meter tall Buddha of Wat Phra Yai temple that sits on the very top of Pratumnak Hill.
If you are planning a visit to Bangkok, do some research and give Pattaya and Pratumnak Hill a go. You could end up having a wonderful time and seeing some exclusive sites. If you are heading to Pattaya city center, to enjoy its nightlife, then we recommend this unique guesthouse located a short walking distance from the well known Soi Buakhao.
